Scientific Studies On Meditation
Many scientifically controlled studies have been undertaken
on meditators over the years to assess the validity of the
practice. Probably most of these have been conducted in
relation to Transcendental Meditation, introduced to the
West in the 1960's by His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi
in the tradition of Adi Shankara, one of the greatest
sage - philosophers of India. Whilst it is true to say that
Meditation offers one of the best, most reliable, natural techniques
for accessing the power of NOW and present moment awareness,
this is a concept not always readily assimilated by those seekers
of the truth about themselves and the souls through which
they manifest.
Some of the material in the following links offers practical proof
of the psychophysiological benefits available in support of the longer
term psychospiritual realisations that can occur.
